Map update notes:

This map was updated in October 2004. It now contains the locations of 136 national parks, national wildlife refuges, national monuments, forest reserves, biological reserves, protected areas, Indian reservations and wet lands. Other improvements are numbered major highways and the balancing of ink colors to reduce consumption when using ink-jet printers.
Step No. 1 - Download Costa Rica map
The map is in the PDF format and can be downloaded, viewed and printed if you have the free Adobe Acrobat viewer software installed on your computer.

Step No. 2 - Download Adobe Acrobat free reader software
If you already have Adobe Acrobat free reader software installed on your computer, go to step No. 3.

Bookmark the Costa Rica map page and go to the Adobe Acrobat free reader page and follow the instructions. You will be asked to choose the Reader version, computer platform version, and language version you need. Follow the instructions included with the Acrobat Reader software to install Acrobat Reader on your computer. When properly installed you will be able to open the PDF file to view and print it.

If you have the PDF file and the Adobe Acrobat free reader software on your computer you can now exit the browser and disconnect.

Step No. 3 - Printing the map from Acrobat Reader
The map is designed to be printed rather than viewed on the screen. Follow the printing instructions provided with Acrobat Reader

Because of the small text, the map prints best on printers with a resolution of 300 dpi. or more such as laser printer and black and white or color Ink jet printers.
